Successful Waiting with the KidsWe have all been there. The hour long stint in the doctors waiting room, the slow service at the restaurant, the unexpected traffic jam. What? No Game Boy? Susan Finn, CME Educator and owner of Buttonwood Ark, a local childrens entertainment provider, will share her simple tips and tools for keeping kids (and their adults) occupied during those times when it is particularly hard to sit still and keep quiet. Welcoming a New Puppy Into Your FamilyGetting a new dog is like having a new member of the family. What better way to learn all of the \"do's and don't's\" about raising a puppy than to come to the Children's Museum in Easton and be taught firsthand? The Children's Museum in Easton is pleased to welcome back Dick Norton, Dog Behaviorist and Trainer, for a special workshop featuring how to raise and train your new puppy. Topics to be addressed include house-training, basic obedience commands, and most importantly, creating a positive and healthy relationship between your new pet and each member of the family. This exciting and informative presentation will be held on Thursday, January 29, from 6:30-8:00pm. The cost is only $5 and pre-registration is required so come on down and join the fun! Tie Dye IIFriday, August 06, 2010Add a splash of color to your day by dropping by The Children's Museum in Easton for our last Tie Dye Drop-in Day of the summer! On Friday, August 6th from 10:30AM-3PM we will be tie dying shirts, pillowcases, socks, or whatever item that you feel needs a makeover down in The Wild Place. Don't have anything to tie-dye? No worries! White t-shirts can be purchased at the Museum for $5. And what better way to top off the day with a tasty snack? The Mix 104.1 Street Team will be here from noon-2PM handing out delicious ice cream to all of our tie dyers. This will be your last chance to tie-dye with us this summer so don't miss out! Make your own psychedelic creation and grab a sweet treat during this colorful Drop-in Day! Drop in to the Children’s Museum in Easton for some summer fun every Thursday and Friday through August 27! Drop in Days explore a variety of different fun and educational themes. Each day has its own theme featuring a combination of expert presenters with hands- on arts and crafts and science activities designed for both fun and learning. Summer Drop in Days take place in the Museum’s outdoor facility The Wild Place, where kids can play, learn about nature, explore the many gardens, or just sit and relax under a shady tree on a hot day. \"Drop in Days\" are free with admission and any age can participate. Pulling Strings Thursday, August 05, 2010Pop on over to The Children’s Museum for our Pulling Strings Summer Drop-In-Day. Join us from 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM for a day filled with magic and puppet fun! At 11:00 AM get ready to be dazzled by Shawn Mullins as he performs his magnificent magic show filled with all kinds of tricks that will be sure to amaze you! At 1:00 PM prepare to go under the sea as Rosalita’s Puppets performs a Sea Story puppet show complete with pirates, mermaids and more of your favorite sea creatures. You can even create your own puppet pals to play with at home! You don’t want to miss out on this fun filled day so make your way to The Children’s Museum and get ready to experience magic and see your favorite creatures come to life, all you need are your hands and a big imagination! Under the Big TopFriday, August 20, 2010 Come one, come all to The Children’s Museum in Easton for our Under the Big Top Summer Drop-In-Day. In the first ring, see your favorite magician Awesome Robb magically transform into a clown and perform other magic tricks too. In the second ring, see a circus demonstration featuring juggling, hoola-hooping and more of your favorite circus tricks. Ever wanted to join the circus? Well this is your chance! You too can try your hand at these circus tricks and learn how to juggle and hoola hoop like a pro. So come on down, grab a seat under the big top and enjoy the show!
