Here in Massachusetts and across America, we can harness the wind and sun to power our future and leave dirty, dangerous energy behind. We�re calling on Congress to invest in a green economic recovery for America. We're asking them to make increasing energy efficiency, expanding public transportation, deploying renewable energy technology, and reducing the pollution that causes global warming central elements in America�s economic policies. Take action Sign our petition to Congress, urging them to commit to repowering America with 100 percent clean, renewable electricity, such as wind and solar, and to cut our dependence on oil in half. Overview We're working to make sure that Congress approves an economic recovery package and legislation that: * Requires that America generate 100 percent of its electricity from clean, renewable sources such as wind and solar power; * Cuts our dependence on oil in half; and * Reduces heat-trapping global warming pollution at least 80 percent by 2050. The oil and coal companies are fighting to stay the course: ExxonMobil and other big energy companies are spending millions on political contributions, ads and lobbyists to keep us on the wrong path�pushing more of the same old polluting policies.
Environment Massachusetts DirectorEnvironment Massachusetts is seeking an experienced organization builder to coordinate program development, advocacy, field organizing, and communications to for one of the state’s leading environmental groups. We are part of a national federation of environmental groups with offices in 26 states and Washington, D.C. Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to environmental issues and to citizen-based social change as well as a track-record of leadership. We're looking for goal-driven and results-oriented individuals with at least 8 years of relevant professional experience who have excellent verbal, writing and analytical skills, the ability to speak persuasively in a charged atmosphere, and enthusiasm for the work. Salary for this position is commensurate with relevant professional experience and/or advanced degrees
