SERVE A MEALTuesday, June 10, 2008 - Wednesday, October 10, 2018Below are ongoing volunteer opportunities: SERVING MEALS Individuals: Either around a holiday or one night during the week, go to one of our shelter locations and not only serve a meal, but join the residences in dining. Dinner is served from 6-8 Groups: Groups can buy groceries, prepare a meal, and serve at one of our shelters. Dinner is for approximately 21 people. Since our shelters are small, home environments, groups must be 5 people or under.

FAMILY DINNER & ENTERTAINMENT NIGHTSTuesday, June 10, 2008 - Sunday, June 10, 2018the Boston Family Shelter is looking for groups/individuals to sponsor some entertainment and fun for families, by throwing a party or hosting a get together. Ideas include, but are not limited to: a 4th of July BBQ, a Halloween party, a movie night, a pizza party with face painting, or cooking a nice dinner. Groups/Individuals would be responsible for providing food for all attendees including the families, as well as an activity for the kids. With the help of your family, co-workers or a few friends, you can help the Boston Family Shelter families have some much needed fun.

Household Items NeededHeading Home is collecting donations for families moving into their own apartments. The families do not have the basic neccessities to furnish an apartment so we will be helping them out. Below is a list of items needed. Bedroom: Mattress pad (twin & queen), sheet set/pillowcase (twin & queen), pillows (must be new), lamps, wall prints. Kitchen: Drinking glasses, silverware, dishware, bakeware,cookware, metal spatula, rubber spatula, cooking timer, can opener, mixing bowls, pot holders, paper towel holder, broom, dustpan, toaster, microwave, dish towels. Living Room: smaller sized furniture, wall prints, coffee table, chairs. Bathroom: Shower curtain/liners, hand towels, bath towels, bath rug, toilet brush, wastebasket.
