33rd Annual Shriners E Ray Kelley Golf TournamentSaturday, August 28, 2010Fundraiser for Shriners Hospitals for Children - Boston Bass Rocks Golf Club 34 Beach Road, Gloucester, MA 01930 History of Event 33 years ago, E. Ray Kelley, a local business man and dedicated member of the Aleppo Temple Shrine, launched the first Shriners golf tournament at the Bass Rocks Golf Club for the benefi t of the Shriners Hospitals for Children. The tournament was so successful that E. Ray and the Cape Ann Shrine Club decided to perpetuate the event as long as it had continued support. Through the generosity of local businesses, individuals, and the never ending enthusiasm of our participating golfers, the tournament has raised close to $500,000 over the past 33 years! Following the sudden and tragic death of E. Ray 20 years ago, the event was permanently dedicated and named after him in his memory. The on going recognition of the importance of this charitable cause by it sponsors and golfers, and its obvious financial success is testament to E. Ray’s hard work, enthusiasm, and dedication that all started 33 years ago.
