We're offering a challenging Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) position for an experienced professional at our world renowned pediatric burn hospital. Using clinical and leadership skills, the Registered Nurse First Assistant promotes the implemenation of the standards of care.

%newline%Specific areas of responsibility include:
%newline%
%newline%--Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, coordinate and implement a preoperative plan of care unique to individual patients
%newline%--Performs directly assisting acute surgeons; handle and dissect tissues in collaboration with the surgeon
%newline%--Clamp blood vessels, coagulating bleeding points, ligating vessels and other procedures in collaboration with the surgeon to achieve haemostasis
%newline%--Provide exposure through appropriate use of instruments, retractors, suctioning and sponging techniques
%newline%--Suture muscle, fascia, subcutaneous and skin tissue in collaboration with the surgeon
%newline%--Recognize safety hazards and initiates appropriate preventative and /or corrective actions to ensure a safe environment for the patient throughout the preoperative experience

%newline%Current Massachusetts RN License
%newline%--RNFA Certification
%newline%--CNOR
%newline%--BLS
%newline%Excellent knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology and operative technique specific to cardiovascular procedures to work in collaboration with the surgeon.
%newline%This is a part-time 24 hour per week position
%newline%
