%newline%Established in 1947 to promote liberal education for the general public, the Foundation now works with hundreds of schools to help teachers use Junior Great Books in the K-12 reading curriculum to improve students' reading and critical thinking skills. Each year, we train thousands of teachers to use the program, and many of our strongest programs are in schools where most students are economically disadvantaged and reading below grade level.
